Custom Hand Held Brushes

Hand Held brushes are usually made with staple set or hand laced construction. People often refer to Hand Held brushes as miniature brushes, toothbrush style brushes, welders, platers or scratch brushes, artist or paint brushes. All Hand Held brushes can be used for cleaning, scraping, deburring, finishing, removing static electricity, washing, spreading, dusting, solution retention applications, detailing, prep work, sliding, applying, varnishing, spot cleaning and painting, as well as other applications. They can be made with natural or synthetic brush fibers. Please give us a call if you have a need for a brush type that is not listed or shown here. We will work with you to make the custom hand held brush you need.

Hand Held brushes are brushes typically small in nature that one can hold in their hand to perform work. The brushes are usually made by stapling bristle into the handle (like a block brush), hand tying the filament, gluing the bristles into the brush head (an Applicator brush), or stamping closed the edge of the brush head where the bristles are inserted (an Acid, Artist, or Pencil brush). Hand held brushes can be also made by inserting bristles into wire that is twisted. These brushes are covered in the Twisted-In-Wire Brush Section indicated at the left.

There are various applications for Hand Held brushes, some of which are listed below. For a specific brush you may need, further scan this Web site, or call us at 1-800-933-0933 or 1-323-724-7777. Hand Held Brush Sizes and Style

The size of a Hand Held brush or miniature brush reflects the measurement of the handle's length, width and height or diameter. The handle can be a small as 1/4" (6.4mm) in length, as small as 1/4" (6.4mm) in width, and the height must be at least 1/4" (6.4mm) for conventional stapling. For an Anchor Set brush (like your ordinary toothbrush), the height may be as small as 1/8" (3.2mm) and as long as you want. For round handles, the smallest handle diameter is 1/8" (3.2mm). The style of the handle can be square, rectangle, triangular, round, or any combination thereof. The trim length on any of these brushes can range from as short as 1/16" (1.6mm) to as long as 6" (152mm). These measurements hold true for any bristle material.

Hand Held Brush Fill Materials Used

The fill material used in the brush can come from natural, synthetic, or metal sources. The use of the brush will determine the types of fill material and core material to be used. For example, natural bristle is used where static is a problem. Synthetic brush materials are often used for general purpose cleaning, and some are chemical resistant. Metal materials are used for heavy duty cleaning, and cleaning other metal surfaces.
